If you are grinding your way through Aion 2, you probably already know that the true endgame revolves around the Abyss. It’s the ultimate PvPvE battleground where factions clash, and it’s where you’ll farm the best gear in the game.

However, if you are looking for the old level 25 entry requirement from the original Aion, things have changed quite a bit. Aion 2 locks this zone behind some serious end-game milestones.

Here is a straightforward, no-nonsense guide on exactly how to unlock the Abyss, how to get inside, and how to make the most of your time once you’re there.

1. Requirements to Unlock the Abyss

Aion 2 treats the Abyss as a true high-level zone, so you won't be wandering in early on. To get your foot in the door, you have to hit two separate progression requirements:

Character Level: You need to hit Level 45. The absolute fastest way to do this is by focusing entirely on your yellow Main Story Questline markers.
Gear Score (GS): You need a minimum 1,000 Gear Score.

A quick word of warning: if you try to rush the main story exclusively, you will hit a gear wall before you reach the GS requirement. To easily push your score past that 1,000 threshold, make sure you are clearing out all the Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds scattered across the map. Also, don't forget to upgrade your Revelation Amulet and enchant your Noble Belt and Necklace up to unique tiers. Those upgrades will give you the exact push you need.

2. How to Enter the Abyss

The good news is that once you actually meet the level and gear requirements, you don't have to walk to the edge of the world or find a physical gate to get in. The entry system is fully digitalized and seamless.

Press the Escape key (or tap the main menu button) to bring up your system interface.
Click on the Abyss menu button.
Select the available instance/zone, and you will instantly queue and enter the Rashanta Abyss map directly.

3. Locating and Navigating Abyss Portals

Once you load into the general Rashanta Abyss layer, your next main objective is finding the dynamic Abyss Portals (often called the Abyss Corridor). This is where things get interesting, as they don't just sit in one spot waiting for you.

Dynamic Spawns: These portals do not have fixed coordinates on the map. Instead, they shift and change dynamically based on how your faction is progressing across the map.
Look to the Skies: If you're hunting for a portal, look up. They spawn almost exclusively on the highest peaks and mountaintops in the active zone.
Artifact Control is Key: A portal won't just appear on a mountain out of nowhere. It will only materialize after your faction successfully captures and controls that specific peak’s associated Artifact Control Point. If your faction loses control, you lose the portal.

4. Quick Farming Tips to Maximize Your Runs

Once you step through an Abyss Portal, you will find yourself in a fast-paced, high-reward, 5-minute instanced dungeon. If you want to farm Abyss Points (AP) for that top-tier endgame PvP gear, this is the absolute fastest way to do it.

To maximize your 5 minutes, keep these tips in mind:

Push to the Back: Don't waste too much time on the weak mobs right at the entrance. Instead, run straight to the rear two zones of the corridor. These back areas spawn high-tier "red" mobs. Clearing them out awards roughly 3,000 extra AP per run compared to the frontline trash mobs.
Track Your Cooldowns: You can generally run these artifact portal dungeons up to three times a day. They reset with the daily server clock, so make sure you use all your entries. If you maximize your runs and focus on the high-tier mobs, you can easily walk away with over 20,000 free AP every single day.
